ArtReach is launching a brand new Bright Club in Leicester. The first two shows will feature as part of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival, the longest running comedy festival in Europe!
Researchers from De Montfort University will be bridging the gap between lecture theatre and stage this February as they take part in the ArtReach Bright Club at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2014. Researchers are given (modest) training to make their work and chosen topic comical, they then brave the stage for 8 minutes and engage audiences with their edifying and funny material! Topics range from Journalism and Politics to 3D Printing and App development.
There will be two shows over the Festival period, both taking place at Leicester’s first pub theatre, Upstairs at the Western – located in Leicester’s West End.
Show one: Saturday 8th February, 7.30pm
Compered by local comedian Matthew Holmes and headlined by Ahir Shah (‘Intellectualism and profanity’ – given 5 stars by Three Weeks).
Tickets: £12
Show two: Saturday 22nd February, 7.30pm
